Morning Glory seed extraction- LSA Extraction from seeds

Looking for an easy to read and follow lsa extraction from morning glory seeds tutorial. Great! That is exactly what I have created, fluff free, with no obscure ingredients or tools, just for you.

THIS extraction method greatly reduces nausea and makes the trip more like LSD, so I highly recommend you use this lsa extraction method instead of just eating the seeds.

Note: I will use the term LSH in place of LSA from time to time, and I will explain why in a bit.

So, let’s get started.

This article has Three Parts.

• FIRST I am going to explain each item you need and why you need it.
• SECOND, I am going to outline the LSH extraction process step by step.
• THIRD, I will provide a printable shopping list for you to have handy.

Tools and Substances You need to extract LSH from Morning Glory Seeds

Here is what you need for lsa and ash extraction from morning glory seeds. Most things are super easy to get, and many you probably already have in your kitchen.

I do of course care very much for the environment and our mother Gaia, so if you can use items you already have at home, all the better, and I still love you so much.

1. FRESH Morning Glory Seeds (Heavenly Blue variety are most psychoactive)

LSA is commonly thought of as the principle psychoactive in morning glory seeds, and it is, if the seeds are old. But what you really want is the less sedating, more LSD like substance called LSH.

LSH is more like LSD, it is more Dopaminergic, not sedating, better visuals, more trippy and fun than LSA.

LSH is at its peak in FRESH from the vine morning glory seeds.

Fun Fact: The psychoactive substance found in morning glory seeds is produced by a fungi that grows on the seeds. This fungi is only able to produce LSH, but the LSH degrades to LSA over time.

I am not going to get into the science too much, but there are plenty of reddit posts and erowid reports that do that. In fact, the LSH is 3x higher on fresh seeds than store bought seeds.

Just know, you WANT fresh from the vine, so grow your own or find a grower.

I wrote an article on how to grow morning glory from seed, so check it out. I took the time to learn the tricks and tips to grow these plants and produce seeds, so I could have the best possible end product.

Bonus, I also have beautiful flowers that bloom on my back patio every morning.

How many morning glory seeds do I need to trip?

That depends on how fresh your seeds are. If your seeds are old, you can estimate that 400 seeds will be about as strong as 1 hit of LSD.

If your seeds are fresh from the vine 400 seeds is like 2 or 3 hits of LSD.

2. Lemons or limes to get your solution to a PH

You need to get your solution to a PH of 4. This is the ideal ph so your LSA or LSH stays stable and does not degrade. LSH degrades quickly the more alkaline the solution is. You need it acidic, at 4 PH.

You can also use DL tartaric acid to acidify your solution if you wish. I can see DL Tartaric acid being useful if you are doing mass extraction, but for most readers who are using extraction method on a small scale, lemons or limes are fine.

3. PH meter (must get the solution to 4 pHs)

I recommend getting a PH meter. They are cheap and you don’t want to futz up your solution by not having it acidic enough, or go overboard with the acidity and give yourself a tummy ache. The method is about avoiding an upset tummy, so…

NOTE: you must calibrate the PH meter. Watch this video to learn how to calibrate you ph meter. You must also use DISTILLED water to calibrate your ph meter. DO NOT use filtered water. If your PH meter does not include calibration packets, you will need to pick those up too.

4. Chilled Spring Water

NO tap water. Even a small amount of chlorine destroys the lsa/lsh alkaloids!

Spring or distilled water, properly acidified with limes or DL Tartaric acid, are what you need to make the mint tea, and to make your drinkable extract. No substitutions.

NOTE: Heat, light, chlorine, neutral and alkaline water, and age of seeds destroy LSH and LSA alkaloids.

5. Cold Sherry

Find sherry wine at the grocery or liquor store. Do NOT get cooking wine because it sometimes has salt added, and I do not know if that affects the extraction.

Sherry is an important ingredient to extract the alkaloids from the morning glory seeds. Sherry wine is HIGH is a substance called acetaldehyde. Sherry has 10mg of acetaldehyde in a 30ml shot glass.

Acetaldehyde has adducting properties that turn ash into a substance more similar to ALD-52, which is a precursor of LSD. I read somewhere that the ancient Aztecs used wine for just this purpose. But that’s not what this article is about. For this article, all we need to know is that acetaldehyde, and therefore sherry wine, and mint tea, are important for this lsa extraction.

6. Chilled Bigelow Mint Medley tea

Mint tea also has acetaldehyde and I recommend you use both mint tea and sherry wine together. This drinkable extraction is not the tastiest mixture, but it gets the job done, so take heart.

Mint tea contains adds a few milligrams of acetaldehyde to the lsa extraction AND helps with any nausea.

Hot Tip: Keep a couple slices of fresh ginger on hand when you drink the mixture to nibble on and keep nausea away.

You will need one cup of mint tea, and it needs to be refrigerated. Remember, heat destroys lsa and lsh.

7. two 1-liter mason jars (you need a pair)

This lsa extraction morning glory recipe makes about 750ml of solution. 500 comes from spring water and the rest from the tea and sherry.

So a 1000 ml or 1 liter mason jar is the perfect size for this little project. Get two mason jars, you need one for the solution and one to filter that solution into another jar.

8. Coffee grinder

Nothing compares to a coffee grinder when it comes to grinding morning glory seeds. You want the seeds pulverized to a dust, to extract every last bit of LSH goodness from them.

If you don’t have a coffee grinder buy or borrow one.

9. Cotton balls

You probably have cotton balls laying around, and they are fine to use. You may want to give them a rinse with your spring water in case they have any lingering chlorine from manufacture, just to be safe.

You use like one or maybe two cotton balls in the tip of the funnel to catch the seed particles, so you just need a few.

10. Funnel

If you don’t have a funnel, you need one. I like the larger ones because they have a wider mouth so the seed mush does not get clogged in the tip. The funnel is used with a cotton ball in the tip, to pour your mixture over and filter it through to the mason jar, which I explain in detail in step 2 below.

11. 1 liter of distilled water

You need distilled, not spring water, to calibrate the PH meter. So pick up a liter of distilled water. Distilled water is sometimes used for medical purposes, or to iron clothes, so you might be able to find it at a pharmacy or drugstore, or possibly with the ironing supplies at a grocery store. You can also order distilled water online.

Process for LSA extraction from Morning Glory Seeds, step by step

This recipe favors the extraction of LSH, the component in Morning glory seeds that is most like LSD. The recipe calls for a few specialized ingredients, but it’s not too complicated and I believe it is worth it.

While I have not tried this extraction on seeds other than Morning Glory, I have a hunch this process may also work on HBWR Hawaiian Baby Wood rose seeds and Rivea corymbosa Ololiuhqui seeds, which have similar compounds and are in the same family as the Morning Glory seeds.

NOTE: I do NOT make a commission from this Mexican site linked below, but I can vouch for their seeds. This is where I got my morning glory seeds and they ALL sprouted. I do believe they ship to the USA.

These psychoactive plants are considered part of Mexico’s heritage and they are not illegal here in Mexico. (Yes, I live in Mexico, which I explain in my article on Growing morning glory from seed).

This recipe to extract the psychedelic alkaloids from morning glory seeds minimizes sedation and potentiates the psychedelic, entheogenic and euphoric effect of Morning Glory Seeds.

Really basic Summary instructions for extracting LSH from Morning Glory Seeds:

1. Make 1 cup of Mint medley tea according to instructions using spring water

Use about 250 ml of the spring water from a 1 liter bottle. That is just a bit more than a cup of water, and 250 ml is one quarter of a one liter bottle of spring water.

You must use spring or filtered water because tap water has chlorine. I know I am repeating myself, but that is for people who are not reading all three parts of this article, and because if you are like me, repetition helps you remember the important details.

Now, as I mentioned in the section above, this tea contains acetaldehyde, which is fragile. So when I make my tea, I use the sun tea method so I don’t have to super heat the water and risk the acetaldehyde evaporating. I also cover the jar with its lid.

I simply set the jar, with the water and a few tea bags, and its lid, in a sunny spot in my yard for two or three hours. Then I place the jar, lid still on, bags and all, in the fridge until I am ready to add it to my extraction.

You must make sure the tea is cold, as heat destroys the psychedelic alkaloids. Thats why this is the First step, so you can make the tea ahead of time.

2. Turn off lights and close the shades for the best lsa extraction

3. Grind seeds in a coffee grinder until nearly dust

Take your seeds, you should be using between 200 to 400 for this recipe. Place the seeds in the coffee grinder and pulse grind them until they are fine ground powder. Don’t do a continuous grind. The last thing you want is the seeds or grinder getting hot, so take it easy. Remember, heat breaks down LSH.

4. Fill 1-liter mason jar half full with spring water (500 ml of spring water)

Pretty simple, get your one liter bottle of spring or filtered water, and pour half of it into your one liter mason jar. You have already used a quarter of the bottle, so you will be left with a quarter of the water in the bottle.

Or you can just fill your 1 liter mason jar half full.

Note: 1 liter is 1000 ml, so 500ml is half a liter. 250 ml is a quarter of your 1 liter bottle. Everyone still with me here?

Remember, filtered or spring water is a must, because it is free from chlorine, unlike tap water. So that is best for your lsa extraction.

5. Acidify your solution in your mason jar to a PH of 4

If you do not have a PH meter, get one. Then you MUST calibrate the PH meter according to the instructions. This video will help you learn to calibrate your PH meter if you prefer to watch a video.

NOTE: You MUST use DISTILLED (not filtered) water to calibrate your PH meter.

Place a small pinch of DL-tartaric acid OR ja few drops of juice from a lime in the filtered water in your mason jar.

Test the water with a PH meter.

Continue adding a tiny bit of tartaric acid OR a bit of lemon or lime juice and testing until a PH of 4 is reached.

6. Add 1 shot glass (1oz) of sherry to the cup of chilled Mint medley tea for your lsa extraction

Get out your shot glass, you want about 30ml, or one shot glass of sherry. One shot glass of sherry has 10 mg of acetaldehyde, which converts LSH into something more similar to LSD.

So sherry is an important ingredient. Don’t omit it.

Pour that shot of sherry right into the mint tea.

7. Add tea mixture to acidified spring water in the Mason jar

Add the tea and sherry mixture to your mason jar half full of acidified to a ph of 4 spring water.

Stir.

Super simple.

8. Add seed powder to Mason jar and stir. Allow to sit in the fridge for 20 min

Pour the seed powder directly into the mason jar concoction. Let your concoction sit in the fridge for 20 minutes. Set a timer on your phone or microwave or whatever. Do people still use microwave timers? I dunno.

9. Stuff a cotton ball in the tip of your funnel and pour the solution through slowly

After the 20 minutes is up, its time to filter the seed mush from the rest of the liquid. It can be kind of challenging if the seed mush gets stuck on the cotton.

Depending on how mushy the seeds get, the filtering process can go a little slow. Don’t stuff the funnel too tight with the cotton so the mixture can filter through easily.

10. Place solution back in the fridge for several hours, shaking hourly

Thats it. Place the lid back on the mason jar once you have the seed mush filtered out. Place the liquid back in the fridge for three hours shaking gently every three hours. It needs a bit of time to react with the wine and tea, but not too much time.

11. Drink and enjoy the ride!

Drink the filtered solution after it has been in the fridge three hours. Do not wait any longer than 24 hours as the actives can degrade.

I heard some rumors…

So I have been poking around the inter webs studying to write this article and came across a few things I heard may potentiate the LSH and lsa extraction or cause the visual aspect of your journey to be more exciting.

The a few things I heard that increase trip intensity are Curcumin (turmeric) WITH Black pepper (piperine).

If you try curcumin with black pepper with your extraction, Let me know in the comments if the rumors are true.

Final notes for a successful las extraction:

Obviously all my pictures were taken in broad daylight. That is so you, my beautiful reader, can see what I am doing.

But…

You want to make sure you perform your extraction in a reasonably dark area, and especially avoid the UV rays of sunlight.

Also, be sure and calibrate your PH meter before you get started. Trust me and learn from my mistakes. Lol.

And yes, fresh seeds are the only way to go. I have tried this with older purchased seeds, and even though they were from a good source, the experience is not the same as with the fresh from the vine seeds.
